    Appointment Reservations

The most critical administrative challenge related to cost control is appointment scheduling. Because our regular patients stay well above average in oral health, we have few surprises or emergencies. Nonetheless, occasionally the schedule may be upset. This notwithstanding, we tend to underbook rather than overbook, thus remaining on schedule. We respect your time. The reciprocal is absolutely necessary.

If we complete a service and don't get paid, we have lost that revenue. But, if we make a reservation for you at a time you select, and for any reason the appointment is not kept, the cost is more than doubled. Most of our patients are on well organized, long-term plans. An empty schedule not of our making precludes us from offering this time to someone else who needs and wants treatment.

If you choose to reserve treatment time with us, you do so understanding that you are financially responsible for that time, regardless of how you choose to use it. This is not meant to be a penalty of any kind, it is simply meant to provide a concrete cost base on which priorities can be assigned. It means that you can decide that something else is a priority without explanation, and we need have no qualms about reserving additional time for you, since no loss will be pointlessly incurred.

Obviously, special circumstances will merit special consideration.

We will attempt to send and/or call reminders of scheduled appointments. This is not our requirement, nor is it an opportunity to cancel. It is just an easy way to avert simple forgetfulness.
