Modern Clinical Services
We don't follow fads, but we neither follow dogma. We study in-depth and always strive to make improvements in the services we offer.
Kids are easy. They usually require minimal treatment, and if they follow our program, they stay that way.
Our primary focus is the defeat of chronic disease; healthy people are the necessary foundation for any engineering (structural, functional and cosmetic) improvements we wish to make. Chewing ability (functional teeth) is necessary to properly process food, the prime requirement for staying healthy. It doesn't matter the quality of your diet; if food is not processed properly, your body can't use it well.
Non-surgical, laser gum disease management
If the structural foundation is weak, if the gums are damaged, this must be fixed. This step may involve laser-assisted rehabilitation (our method) or referral for gum surgery.
Our program for definitive (as opposed to incremental) non-surgical periodontal treatment is based on the work of Drs. R. Gregg and D. McCarthy, the developers of the "Laser ENAP" protocols.
Adult Rehabilitation
Now we are ready to restore weak, broken and missing teeth, as necessary. Adult restoration usually involves laboratory fabricated, high precision caps and bridges. Most crowns (caps) and bridges are fabricated by commercial laboratories and take 2 weeks to 2 months to complete. We have a more customized laboratory relationship. Our restorations can usually be completed in 1 or 2 days. Recently, CAD/CAM (computer-generated) crowns have become a reality; fabrication can be accomplished in 15 minutes. Amazing.
Implants
Implants are a great 'new' advance in tooth replacement, which we have been working with for about 10 years. Implants can also stabilize dentures; they will not be loose.
Bonding
All of our "non-crown" restorations use laser-cured, tooth-colored bonded composite resins or other advanced generation materials. We have been using bonding for over 25 years. (We have used no mercury for over 15 years. We like it that way: Better for our work environment, better for your body, better for the world's environment.)
Cosmetic Dentistry
Personal appearance is important to everyone. Your teeth are central players in appearance and facial expression. The role of front teeth is obvious. But often overlooked is the need for back teeth (molars). Molars, generally, are more than 4 times as strong as front teeth. They not only do all the work of chewing, but provide the support for the bones, muscles and skin of your face. If the back teeth are allowed to collapse or are removed, your face, with no support, will also collapse. If you have only front teeth, no matter how pretty they are, they will be crushed by your bite. Saying cosmetic dentistry and including only the front teeth, is a serious mistake.
